
"Melissa George was nominated for the highly
prestigious Golden globe award this year, and is quickly emerging as one
of the most promising new actors of her generation. At such a young age,
George captivated television and film critics in her native country, and

"George played the female lead opposite Josh Hartnett and Danny Huston in the Sony Pictures' Film "30 Days of Night." Which rose to Number 1 two weeks in a row. Based on the acclaimed graphic novel of the same title. The film, directed by David Slade ("Hard Candy") and produced by Sam Raimi ("Spiderman") tells the story of an isolated Alaskan town that is plunged into darkness and attacked by a gang of vampires. George and Harnett played a Sheriff husband and wife team whose town and the gang threatens lives.
"George recently finished production on three films, including "The Music Within", opposite Ron Livingston and Michael Sheen ("Frost Nixon") "The Music Within" which won the Audience Award at the AFI, chronicles the true story of Richard Pimentel who is credited with changing America's attitude toward the disabled. Pimentel (Livingston), a brilliant public speaker with a troubled past, returned from Vietnam severely hearing-impaired and found a new purpose in life with the company of a man with cerebral palsy (Sheen) and the free loving, Christine (George ); For "WAZ", George starred opposite Stellan Skarsgaard ("Mamma Mia") and Golden Globe winning actress Sally Hawkins. Directed by Tom Shankland, "WAZ" tells the story of a rookie detective (George) and her veteran partner (Skarsgaard) who find themselves entangled in an undesirable case. "Most recently Melissa starred as the lead in Icon's 2009 release "Triangle"; the film chronicles the journey of "Jesse" through her five personalities. This film is said to be her finest performance yet. "George has also been seen starring opposite Josh Duhamel in Fox's "Turistas," in which George filmed her role in Portuguese. George also starred in the MGM number 1 hit remake of "The Amityville Horror" opposite Ryan Reynolds, and grossing over 100 million worldwide. "George will star in the much-anticipated HBO original series "In Treatment" with Gabriel Byrne, Diane Weist and Blair Underwood in 2008/9. The series, executive produced by writer-director Rodrigo Garcia (HBO's "Carnivale" and "Big Love" and films such as "Nine Lives" and "Something You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her") and Mark Wahlberg, centers on a therapist (Byrne) who, although is an esteemed psychiatrist to his patient (George), realizes he himself is in need of shrink. George won the AFI, voted the top 10 TV shows of the year and gained a golden globe nomination for her fierce portrayal of Laura. "George started performing in her early years, as a champion roller-skater; touring around the world and amassing numerous awards, including national champion of Australia and a second place finish in the Junior Worlds. At the age of 16, George was cast in the popular Australian television series "Home and Away" alongside such luminaries as Heath Ledger and Guy Pearce. George was recognized for her work with several Logie Awards and the People's Choice Award for Best Actress. She earned a BAFTA nomination for her portrayal of the leading character, Angel Brooks. In 2003, George had one of the more memorable guest appearance roles in the hit NBC show, "Friends" as the "lesbian nanny." George also appeared as the evil character, Lauren Reed on ABC's hit show, "Alias". "In late 2008, Melissa was asked to join Grey's Anatomy, The number
